After he was extubated, Teddy was not happy until Mama climbed up into the crib with him and snuggled.

Look at all those IV pumps. Yup! We used all of those, and I think had even lost one at this point.

Sleeping. He slept only fitfully for about 5 days. We had to tie his hands down (sniff) so he’d leave everything alone, but if I was with him, I was able to untie his left hand.

His belly. Swelled up, but that lump is the kidney.

Finally playful. Tuesday night, he played with toys a little. About 90 minutes of playful time. 🙂  It was the first day he did more than whimper, cry, or whine. He’s noticeably less swollen, as well.

I really only know of you guys and happen to know Tiff in real life. My son is a little older than Teddy and I am glued to this. Not in a negative way, but my heart swells thinking of you guys!! So many prayers for you and your family. Literally in my thoughts and prayers all the time.

Reblogged this on Wallypoppers and commented:
Those of you curious about how Teddy’s doing – his surgery was a great success, his new kidney is happily making itself at home and his labs are better than they’ve ever been. Literally. Ever. He’s having a somewhat rough time with pain, and we’re working on getting his digestive system back to functioning, but things are going well! Thanks!
